About the Graduate School
- The vision and mission of the SME Graduate School is to advance interdisciplinary entrepreneurship research and to analyze relevant topics on an international level. The SME Graduate School serves as a platform to discuss heterogeneous approaches in this field across theory and practice. The focuses are on sustainable SME Management, Family Business, and German Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (“Mittelstandâ€) from different perspectives (such as business administration, economics, information systems).
- The SME Graduate School is part of the School of Business and Economic Disciplines (Faculty III) of Siegen University and officially started in 2018. It is built on the experiences of the Research School Business & Economics and provides young researchers, from a variety of disciplines, the opportunity to advance their new research ideas at a high quality level, supervised by experienced researchers and guest lecturers.
- The SME Graduate School offers combined Master and Doctoral courses designed to prepare students for successful, research-oriented careers in the field of SME Management. The idea is to enable students to start research after their bachelor degree parallel to their master studies, to gain first experiences (paper writing, presentation, networking, collaboration, etc.) to be prepared for a Ph.D. afterwards and to enter academia as a career.
